Tim FREEMAN

Tim Freeman

Before becoming a Leaping Loonie, Tim was a struggling acrobat, travelling the world trying to make a living, "just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe" he says.

His main areas of responsibility on stage are doing somersaults, being hit and thinking up gags that people hardly ever laugh at. Off stage his duties are designing, building and maintaining the acrobatic equipment, coordinating future work, drinking beer and plotting revenge.

Tim's Hobbies and interests include gardening, walking with his dog Zelda, swimming, body surfing, researching Armoured Fighting Vehicles and drinking beer and his favorite thing to do on tour is walking around foreign cities, looking at stuff and sampling the local beers.

Life after the Leaping Loonies? "I think an outdoor job with occasional physical activity, possibly a vagrant...the boring repetitive stories I could tell!!!"

Daniel THEW

Daniel Thew

Daniel was a full time Orthopedic Ward Assistant, part time Clown and all time Party Animal before becoming a Leaping Loonie.

As a Loonie, Daniel's role is mainly throwing, catching and being loud. Off stage duties include being loud, driving, maintaining act vehicles, being loud, funds reallocation, handing over driving to Scott, drinking and being louder. Drinking.

Life after The Leaping Loonies? Daniel has specific aims, "primarily to infiltrate and eventually take over an Australian tri-annually funded contemporary circus company, cut away the dead wood (except for you Lingy, I promised your mum) and use their assets to fund my debauchery!!!"

Daniel's other interests include fishing, drinking, soaking in the family spa, drinking, being loud and drinking.

Daniels favorite part of being on tour is beer at petrol stations in Spain, Belgium and Germany, Scott driving, and being loud in foreign countries.

Scott GROVE

Scott Grove

Prior to joining The Leaping Loonies, Scott was a bored, depressed, grungy teenager with a background in skateboarding, gymnastics and venturing. When offered the opportunity to train and perform with the group, Scott leapt at the chance...well..."reluctantly shuffled" is a more accurate description actually.

Scott's duties on stage include somersaulting, throwing, catching and being subtle. Off stage he contributes with his audio-visual design skills and eats a lot.

Life after The Leaping Loonies? "When Tim and Daniel are dead I will continue with my career as a professional acrobatic performer."

Scott says his hobbies and interests are "Surfing, eating and music".

Scott is well known in acrobatic circles for his unique and powerful tumbling style and his quiet demeanor. It has been often said of him that he "knows all, sees all, says very little".

Callan MATTHEWS-FREEMAN

Callan Freeman

The first of the second generation of Leaping Loonies (and a few more to come after him !), Callan had a baptism of fire in 2008....WA Circus Festival, Adelaide Fringe, 2 months school Show touring in NSW and Queensland, 4 months in Europe, Edinburgh Fringe, 14 week round Australia school show tour and then home in time for Christmas! Strange thing though....he wants more!!!

Callan enjoys music, video games, movies and Warhammer 40K, he likes tumbling but is afraid of Teeterboards, but he does it anyway....it is the Loonie way.

On the subject of life after The Leaping Loonies, Callan say's "Hey! I only just got into the act ! Give me a few more years of touring and I will let you know how I feel, now leave me alone with my Mi Goreng and VB!!!!"
